A voluntary speed reduction program will be in place in Placentia Bay starting April 5th at 0231UTC , 2026.

Vessels are requested to proceed at a maximum of 10.0 knots in the Placentia Bay traffic lanes. 

The voluntary speed restriction is in effect from the outer limits of the VTS zone to berth limits.

Mariners are asked to avoid areas marked with flashing amber lights and to contact work vessels on channel 74 

sixty minutes prior to transiting for restrictions and current channel closures.
