NAVWARN details

The following changes to the aids to navigation will take place in the Puvirnituq area, from August 15, 2022 until September 11, 2022:

A new range, with a 080/260 azimuth, will be erected near the south bank of the Puvirnituq River.  The front tower will be erected at the following approximate coordinates:  60 01.038 N 077 17.028 W.  The rear tower will be erected at the following coordinates: 60 01.070 N 077 16.675 W.  The towers will be fitted with reflective day boards and will be unlit.

Another new range, with a 034.5/214.5 azimuth, will be erected near the north bank of the Puvirnituq River.  The front tower will be erected at the following approximate coordinates: 60 01.204N 077 19.973W.  The rear tower will be erected at the following coordinates: 60 01.341N 077 19.783W.  The towers will be fitted with reflective day boards and will be unlit.

The existing range having a 026/206 azimuth will no longer be operational. However, the front tower, with coordinates 60 01.259N 077 20.355W will remain as well as the racon that is attached to the tower. It will continue to broadcast the P (.- -.) call sign as advertised.  The rear tower, with coordinates 60 01.501N  077 20.120W will also remain, and it will continue to serve as the rear tower for the 046/226 existing range.

All the above coordinates are in the NAD83 datum.

All the other existing aids to navigation in the Puvirnituq area will remain unchanged.
